Everything You Need to Know About Invisalign

Invisalign are clear plastic aligners which are specially made for patients who wish to strengthen their teeth to have a more exquisite smile. It is the most modern method of strengthening teeth. It mounts pressure on the affected teeth and slowly shifts them into proper and desired positions in the mouth.

They are not made of any weighty metals like normal braces, instead made of clear and comfortable trays. This is mainly used to strengthen teeth that are crowded, gapped, underbites and overbites.

More effective than traditional braces

Invisalign actually rectifies the teeth within a short period of wearing it. Traditional braces are needed to be worn for a much longer time before patients can actually begin to see effective results, whereas, with Invisalign, results can be seen within 2-3months.

Customized to fit the mouth of a specific patient

For its accurate working, it is especially custom-made to align the teeth of the patient wearing it. The orthodontist, at DENTAL WORLD, will set the treatment plan of the patient on the basis of which aligners are fabricated by the Invisalign company and delivered to the clinic and then the clinic delivers them to the patient.

Invisalign is removable, hence making cheating possible

Invisalign aligners are removable though the patients are advised to wear the aligners for at least about 20 to 22 hours every day. But if not worn as advised then the effectiveness can go for a toss. Normal braces are not removable hence cheating is not possible and thus making Invisalign a flexible option.

Need to adjust how you speak

Affecting your speech is the only drawback of Invisalign, though not for every patient. There’s nothing one can do to prevent this, it’s just a natural reaction to having these things in your mouth. However, you will not lisp the whole time you wear them, but only for the first few days until you get used to them.

Treatment length varies for each person

Of course, this all depends on the state of your teeth and how much work is required. However, if there are only one or two teeth out of place, then it may last less than a few months. And if your teeth are a lot misaligned, then it will last longer.

Flossing is a must

With Invisalign, flossing is more important than ever, because you need to keep your teeth and gums as clean as possible. The food, plaque and other such things can be really problematic as it can rub off into the aligners. As a result, you could get that gunk stuck in aligners. Which can further lead to pain, that no one wants to deal with!

Regular cleaning of the aligner

Cleaning your Invisalign is really important. As well as looking after your teeth, you should look after your aligners too. Aligners require cleaning every day as your teeth. To clean your aligners, you would require a toothbrush and toothpaste. It is also safe to use a mild soap cleanser to clean the aligner.

There is no age limit for Invisalign

You’ll be happy to know that, there is no such evidence that suggests, age to be a constraint for Invisalign. Most adults hesitate when the topic of getting an Invisalign pops up in their head because they believe that it is only meant for teenagers. People of all ages with permanent teeth can appreciate the benefits of Invisalign.

If you are disturbed with your misaligned teeth and want to correct them without wearing those traditional braces with metal, then opting for Invisalign will be a great option. Invisalign treatment is more efficient as they are almost invisible, can be removed and are custom-made to fit your mouth.
