Chief Complaint & Initial Presentation
Severe attrition of all occlusal surfaces, persistent jaw tenderness, clicking TMJ joints, and collapsed facial profile.
Clinical Methodology & Biomechanical Approach
Electromyographic muscle testing identified physiologic resting jaw posture. A temporary therapeutic orthotic stabilized the muscles of mastication before permanent reconstruction with biometrically balanced monolithic zirconia.
Clinical Outcome & Long-Term Stability
Complete cessation of TMJ pain and morning headaches. Reestablished vertical dimension of occlusion with harmonious aesthetic smile arc.
Chronic nocturnal bruxism and a collapsed vertical bite dimension had worn this patient’s teeth down to the underlying dentin, triggering severe joint compression and muscle hypertonicity.
By leveraging our K7 Computerized Mandibular Jaw Tracking technology, we relieved the compressed joint space and identified the patient’s optimal neuromuscular trajectory. Full arch monolithic restorations were then fabricated to permanently maintain this physiologic equilibrium.
